


Puffed Rice Usli / Bhel /Mandakki Usli / Girmit North karnataka Style
💁Ingredients
4 cups churumuri / mandakki / puffed rice
4 tsp oil
1/2 tbsp mustard
1/2 tbsp jeera
few curry leaves
3 tbsp peanuts
1 tbsp urad dal
1 tbsp chana dal
3 -4 onions finely chopped
2 tomatoes finely chopped
2 – 4 green chillies finely chopped
1/2 tbsp p turmeric
1/2 tbsp red chilies power
salt to taste
2 tbsp putani powder roasted gram powder 💁don’t use lot just a spoon while using putani power more spicy is going.. Just for flavore ☝
✊ Handful of coriander leaves finely chopped
1tbsp lemon Juice.
💁Method
In a large kadai heat oil and add mustard, jeera , peanuts, chana dal, urad dal, and few curry leaves. allow to splutter.further add finely chopped onion ,green chilli & Tomatoes saute well.also add turmeric , red chilies power and salt. saute for few minutes.
At this stage add 4 cup of puffed rice. 💁The main purpose of washing is to take away the dirt & debris from the puffed rice. 💁while we do so they 💁soften. But do not make them ✊mushy.
Take a small jar add 4 tsp putani coarse powder it. Now mix putani.add lemon juice & handfull of chopped coriander leaves give a rough mix. finally, serve north Karnataka Style Mandakki Usli .Garnished With few Coriander Leaves and Lemon Wedges.
