Jackfruit Idli / Ponsa Muddo / Halasina Hannina Kadubu Or Pelata Gatti With Fresh Home Made Ghee

I m showing authentic way of preparing these idlis with #TeakLeaves, however these idlis can be easily prepared in Banana_Leaves, Idli_Stand as well.The idli is lightly sweetened by adding jaggery and tastes best when served with homemade ghee.

If you have💁 teak leaves, you can make cup moulds. If using banana leaf, fold the leaves over a portion of the batter to make Ponsa Muddo. Else, you can make the muddo like you make idlis using an idli stand. The flavour will 💁vary slightly depending on the leaf mould used (or not), but all three variations are equally delicious.

If using leaves, the muddo have to be steamed for 15 -20 minutes. If using idli stand, steam for 10 minutes.

Ingredients

20 – 25 pieces Jackfruit of ripe Panas
2 cup Rice rava
2 cup Fresh 🥥 coconut , grated
1 cup final chopped fresh 🥥 coconut pieces
1 cup Jaggery as per ur taste
1 pinch Salt
Ghee

Method

To begin making the Jackfruit Idli Recipe, peel, deseed and chop jackfruit roughly.

In a Mixer, combine jackfruit pieces, jaggery, grated 🥥 coconut, and to a fine paste .

Transfer the jackfruit puree into a mixing bowl. To this bowl, add rice rava, Coconut 🥥 pieces and salt to taste, mix everything well. Allow this Jackfruit Idli batter to sit for 20 -30 minutes so that the rice rava soaks & jack fruit absorb flavour well in the mixture .Then, check the consistency of the batter. It should be little thicker than idli batter.

Heat water in an Idli steamer.These idli’s are usually prepared with fresh💁 Teak leaves. if you do not have teak leaves use banana leaves or normal idli stand grease idli moulds with ghee .Pour the batter into the cavities follow the same procedure for cooking idli.

👉Here I m used fresh Banana leaf👈clean the fresh banana leaves and add a ladleful of jackfruit batter in leaf & fold it . Or using Teak leaf mould add 1 cup batter as I shown in 👉#Video… or you can put middle batter fold the leaves as shown pic .cook it in a idli cooker on medium flame for 20 mins. switch of the flame.after 5 mins .
