


Thaikelo Ambado / Dangara /Tora Leaves Fritters
Dedicated To All The Thaikela Lovers 💏 💁This is a seasonal greens monsoon 🌧️☔ herbs 🌿 seen only during monsoon season everywhere in Mangalore.. The tender tora leaves are used to make.various dishes like 💁Tambali’s, Vada , Upkari of Konkani cuisine.Tora leaves are called in Kannada chagate soppu.
💁Ingredients
2 bunches Thaikelo / Tora Leaves
1-1/2 cup Soak dosa rice
1/4 cup thoridal
2 -3 tbsp Chana dal
10 -12 red chillies
peanut size tamarind
1 🤏pinch asafoetida
3 tbsp fresh grated 🥥 coconut
Salt to taste
💁Method
Soak dosa rice , thori dal & Chana dal Along with water 💧 soak for 2 hours.
Wash tora leaves well and chop into a small pieces. Make a💁 tiny pieces and keep aside.
Now Prepare a batter Grind whole dry red chillies with peanut size tamarind, 1 pinch asafoetida, only 3 tbsp 🥥 coconut in to a smooth paste adding as 💁 required 💧 water as possible. Then add the soaked rice & dal mixture. Grind in to a 👉 coarse paste..
Mix this with finely chopped taikelo leaves add salt to taste and mix nicely. Using hand ✋ take a lemon 🍋 size batter and give a round vada tap them to a shape. Leave the batter one by one into oil and fry in a medium flame by turning both the sides.When it is crisp and brown remove onto tissue paper and Thaikile Dangara /Ambado Is Ready to Serve… Warm As a Starters.👌
