


Mangalorean Style Mackerel /Bangda Fish Masala Tava Fry
💁Mackerel fish is one of the most popular fish that you can try and make for your lunch And with a masala fry it taste was fantastic & superb.. 💁 This restaurant style fish masala fry recipe is very easy to make at home with very less ingredients.
💁Ingredients For Fish Masala Fry
15 Byadgi red chillies +5 Guntur red chillies
1/2 tbsp Cumin seeds
1 -1/2 tbsp coriander seeds
Amla size tamarind
1/4 tbsp black pepper
6-8 peel garlic cloves
1 inch ginger
Few curry leaves
1/4 tbsp turmeric powde
1 💁small raw onion
Salt to taste
💁Other Ingredients
6-8 Mackerel fish 🐟🐠
4 -5 tbsp coconut oil 🥥
Few curry leaves
Handfull ✊ of chopped coriander leaves
Lemon wedges/ slice
💁Method
Clean & wash the fish neatly. Make slits along the length of the 🐠 fish, on one side , going deep into the fish , along the bone ,💁but not Cutting through fish .Repeat on the other side of the fish & You will have two side getting fish inside the masala flavour properly.
Take a bowl add Byadgi red chillies & Guntur red chillies Soak in hot water for 15 -20 mins keep aside.
In a mixer jar add soaked chillies, cumin seeds, coriander seeds,Amla size tamarind,black pepper, 6-8 peel garlic clover, few curry , ginger, turmeric powder, salt to taste & 1 small raw onion. Grind these into a very fine smooth thick paste by adding 💁very little water.
Then add this paste to cleaned fish .Apply 2-3 tbsp of the ground masala. Reatain the remaining Masala for later use. 💁Spread the masala fish on both sides marinate for 1 hour .
Heat a pan & take 2-3 tbsp coconut 🥥 oil in it place the marinated fish in it . Fry the fish on both the sides for for 3-5 mins medium to low flame. Flip the fish once fried well on other side . Transfer to a plate .
In the same pan heat 2tbsp of coconut 🥥 oil & once oil heats put few curry leaves and fry them until crisp add extra remaining masala & fry it for a while 💁 untill the raw smell disappears. Add little water & adjust salt cover and cook on low flame till the masala leaves oil zoom out from the sides.
Place the fried fish 🐠 on it cover the fish with the masala. Add fresh chopped coriander leaves fry for 3-5 mins on each side. Flip the fish once it cooks well on one side with the masala. Fry for another side for 3 mins .
