White Beans in Spicy Garlic Seasoned Gravy / Tingalavare Bendi in Konkani. Bendi is a spicy Dish in Konkani Cuisine

White beans, also known as white navy beans, offer extraordinary health benefits. They are loaded with provide a good supply of a source of fiber and protein. They help regulate fat storage in the body. It is also known as ๐Ÿ‘‰Tingalavare in Konkani and Kannada.๐Ÿ‘ˆ Here is a konkani delicacy made from White beans called Tingalavare Bendi.Since Bendi is a spicy dish in konkani cuisine, i have used lot of red chillies to get the authentic taste.You can use as per ur spicy the number of red chillies according to your taste.

Ingredients

1/4 kg โ€“ 2 cup White Beans
1 cup banana stems
2 medium size drumstick
1 cup grated Coconut
10-12 byadgi + Guntur Dry red chillies
Amla size tamarind
Salt to taste

For seasoning

2tbsp Oil
2 whole cloves Garlic crushed lightly along with skin

๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ‘‡Method

Soak white beans /Tingalavare for 4 hours. Boil the white beans & banana stems along with water in a pressure cooker for 3 whistles get they are soft.

Roast red chillies. Grind them along with coconut, tamarind and water to form a smooth paste.

Now take a heavy bottomed pan, add boiled white beans and banana stems add drumstick & salt bring to boil 8-10mins when drumstick are cokked. Add the ground paste, water and bring to boil on low flame.

Now keep a seasoning pan on the other stove, add the oil and fry the crushed garlic till golden.Now pour over the boiling curry. Serve hot with Steaming Rice/ Dosa โ€ฆ ๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿค—
