


Season’s First Kadgi / Raw Jackfruit Side Dish Kadgi Chakko /Sukha / Sukke
💁Kadgi Means Raw Jack Fruit. Chakko is a kind of side dish with coconut based. This dish is one of the most popular dishes among Konkani.
💁👇Ingredients
2 cup 👉 roughly chopped Raw jackfruit
1 cup Fresh grated coconut 🥥
1 tbsp coriander seeds
1/2 tbsp urad dal
1/4 tbsp methi/fenugreek seeds
marble size tamarind extract
6 +5 Bedgi & Guntur red chilies
1 tbsp mustard seeds
2 spring curry leaves & 1 broken red chillie
3 tbsp oil
Small piece jaggery
Salt to taste
Method
Heat a little oil and fry urad dal till golden brown add coriander seeds & methi seeds. Grind them with coconut, jaggery, red chilies and tamarind to a coarse paste 👉do not mix too much water.
Cut the jackfruit into bite size pieces. Cooking in pressure cooker for only 2 whistle … when pressure comes down… Once it’s cool.. Crush them lightly with a hand ✋ or rolling pin keep aside.
Heat 3 tbsp of oil and add mustard seeds. When they start popping, add broken red chillies & curry 🌿leaves. Add cooked Jack Fruit and fry for a minute. Mixing in between. Add piece of if required jaggery & salt to taste Mix well.Put the ground masala, add a little water. Cook on a low flame for around 8-10 mins mix in between well.
Ready to Serve As Side Dish Raw Jackfruit 👉Kadgi Chakko / Kadgi Sukha / Sukke.
