


Kuvale Sasam Ash Gourd Curry
💁👇Ingredients
1/2 kg ash gourd
1 cup fresh grated coconut
1 tbsp mustard seed
3-4 Green chillies
Small piece tamarind
Salt to taste
💁For Tempering
Coconut oil
2 leaflets of curry leaves
2 broken red chillies
💁Method
Peel the outer skin of Ash gourd and remove off the middle portion containing seeds.
Chop the Ash gourd into big cubes and put it in a vessel add water , level of water should be, just above the pieces, add salt and cook…till soft.
In Mixie jar put grated coconut, chillies, tamarind & mustard seeds along with water. Make a coarse paste.
Add this masala to the cooked Ash gourd in a cooking vessel and bring to boil. if necessary add water to maintain a medium thick consistency, bring it to boil Simmer for few minutes and remove off the heat.
Heat oil in a tempering pan, add mustard seeds, let them splutter.once they start popping add curry leaves & dry broken red chillies. Add this seasoning to the curry and mix well.
Kuvale Sasam is ready to serve…
