Today’s Special Hot Hot Vada / Uddina Vada

Some people find it difficult to make a perfect hole ๐Ÿฉ in the vada .So here is a trick for such people, ๐Ÿ’Tie a white or any colour thin ๐Ÿ’wet cloth on a medium sized blow .Tie it tightly on the backside of the bowl .Now turn up the bowl, place some vada batter on it .Then wet your index โ˜๏ธ finger & make the hole in the batter .Flip the bowl gently into hot oil.

Ingredients

1 1/2 cups of urad dal
ยผ cup of idli rice rava
5- 6 green chillies chopped
5 tbsp of fresh chopped coconut๐ŸŒด pieces
3 string few curry leaves
1 inch ginger finely chopped
salt to taste
oil to fry

Wash and soak dal 2-3 hours.Drain all the water from soaked dal. grind urad dal smooth paste using very ๐Ÿ‘‰little water๐Ÿ‘ˆi have used grinding stone.

๐Ÿ’ Wet grinder or even mixer grinder u can be used.

The batter should be thick and use very little water.the right consistency is very important or otherwise , you will not be able to get the ๐Ÿ‘‰Vada shape. Add green chilli, ginger and chopped ๐ŸŒดcoconut pieces to the batter. mix it very well.๐Ÿ‘‰add 3 -4 tsbp of idli Rava is added to make it crispy. to make it more digestible.

Heat the oil in a frying pan in medium flameโ€ฆ.๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡

Wipe it off with your wet hand โœ‹ Then put some vada batter on it and make the hole with your finger.โ˜

The vada slips into the oil.The vada should float on top of oil. make sure your oil is not too hot. otherwise the vadas would not cook evenly.fry on both sides till it becomes golden brown in colour. Serve Vada immediately with chutney / or sambar ๐Ÿ˜‹ ๐Ÿ˜‹
