Happy Aashaadh Ekadashi To All

Sabudana Khichadi

Sabudana Khichadi is one of the #Traditional_Fasting_Day Recipe. It can be prepared as a breakfast.

The soaking time of sago pearls depends on the size and type of sago as some sago pearls absorb water fast while others need to be soaked for a more time.

Ingredients

2 cups sabudana /sago pearls
3 tbsp roasted ground Peanuts πŸ₯œ coarsely power
3 tbsp Oil
1/2 tbsp Mustard seeds
1/4 tbsp zeera
1/2 tbsp chana dal
1/4 tbsp urad dal
4 to 6 green chillies slits 🌢️
Few Curry leaves 🌿
1 medium size length Li chopped potatoeπŸ₯”
Salt to taste
1/4 cup Fresh grated coconut πŸ₯₯
Few chopped coriander leaves
1/2 tbsp Lemon juice

Method

Wash the sabudana in a running tap water to let go off excess starch. Soak it for 4 to 5 hours before or overnight & keep aside..

Now heat oil in a nonstick pan add mustard seeds, cumin seeds,when they crackle add chana dal ,urad dal, green chillies and curry leave saute well. Now potatoes and salt saute well… when it cook add the sago mix and stir gently. Keep stirring gently. Now sprinkle little water πŸ’§keep the flame low… cover & cook for 2 to 3mins .When the sago turns transluscent,The sago will have fluffed up and its colour will have changed from tranluscent to a white. πŸ‘‰πŸ’Do not overcook as it will harden sago and lump too. At this stage add 2 tbsp roasted coarsely ground peanuts, 1/4 cup Fresh πŸ₯₯grated coconut ,Coriander leaves & few drops πŸ’§ πŸ‹ lemon juice Mix well and remove from heat.Ready to Serve ..πŸ˜‹πŸ‘Œ
